INDIA NEWS
1- Central Government reduces excise duty on petrol by ₹3.
The Central Government has cut excise duty on petrol from ₹13 to ₹10. Despite rising crude oil prices, Indian oil companies have not increased fuel rates and are currently facing losses. To ease their burden, the government has reduced the duty. However, this move is unlikely to bring any immediate relief in petrol prices for the common public.
2- New guidelines for VVIP air travel.
The DGCA has introduced new guidelines for VVIP air travel, particularly for Chief Ministers, Governors, and other senior leaders. Under the new rules, aircraft condition, age, travel history, and pilot experience will be thoroughly checked. In case of poor weather conditions, the pilot’s decision will be given top priority, and no one can force take-off or landing.
3- Married male’s physical relation with other women, cannot be considered as Crime: Allahabad High Court.
The Allahabad High Court stated that consent is a crucial factor in such cases. It emphasized that individuals involved must be above 18 years of age and that a citizen’s rights cannot be violated. If any complaint is filed, the local police will ensure protection and take necessary action.
4- ₹2.38 lakh crore defence equipment buying proposal approved.
The government has approved a major defence deal worth ₹2.38 lakh crore. Under this proposal, India will procure Russia-made systems such as the S-400 missile system and Sukhoi-30 engines. The deal also includes air defence targeting systems, tank ammunition, Dhanush artillery guns, and advanced aerial surveillance systems to strengthen national security.

5- War to be halted for 10 days
US President Donald Trump has announced a 10-day pause in war operations, extending the earlier 5-day halt. The pause is expected to end on April 6. The United States has proposed 15 conditions to end the conflict, while Iran has sought 7 days to review them and has presented 5 counter-proposals.
6- Israel says attack on Iran will be terrifying.
Israel has warned that its potential attack on Iran will be severe. According to the Defence Minister, the focus will be on Iran’s missile production and manufacturing facilities. Israel claims these missiles have been used against its citizens and has stated that the only way to stop further attacks is an unconditional surrender by Iran.
7- Trump’s signature to appear on U.S. currency.
Reports suggest that Donald Trump’s signature may appear on US currency as part of changes linked to the upcoming 250th anniversary of US Independence. Currently, US notes carry the signature of the U.S. Treasurer.

8- Finance bill approved by Parliament.
The Finance Bill for the financial year 2026–27 has been passed by Parliament. This ensures that the required funds for government expenditure from April 1 will be officially available for use.
9- Forex reserves drop below 700 billion
India’s forex reserves have fallen below $700 billion, according to RBI data. The decline is mainly attributed to a drop in international gold prices, impacting the overall reserve value.

10- IPL-2026 session is going to start from today.
The IPL 2026 season kicks off today. In the opening match, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Bengaluru.
