Abhishek Sharma has been fined 25% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during a match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

What Happened in the Match?

The incident took place in the 9th over when,Varun Chakaravarthy completed a diving catch to dismiss Abhishek Sharma.

The decision went to TV umpire Nitin Menon, who ruled the catch out. However, TV replays did not show clear evidence, leading to some doubt over the decision. 

Why Was He Fined?

• Abhishek Sharma showed disagreement with the umpire’s decision.
• He looked visibly upset while walking off the field.
• This behavior is considered “dissent”, which breaks Article 2.3, IPL code of condut rules, considered as level 1 breach.

What Is a Level 1 Breach?

A Level 1 offence is the least serious violation under IPL rules and usually results in a fine.

• Using inappropriate language
• Misusing equipment (like hitting the bat or stumps)
