No IPL Broadcast in Bangladesh After Deal Cancellation

Cricket fans in Bangladesh will not be able to watch the current IPL season on television. T-Sports was earlier set to broadcast the matches, but the deal has now been cancelled.

What Happened

Jiostar, which holds the IPL broadcasting rights, has cancelled its agreement with T-Sports due to non-payment of dues. As a result, the planned TV broadcast in Bangladesh has been stopped.

Rising Tensions

The situation comes amid rising tensions between India and Bangladesh. Reports suggest the issue escalated after the BCCI asked Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to exclude Bangladesh player Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL.

Following this, Bangladesh reportedly pulled out of the T20 World Cup, saying they would not travel to India. The Bangladesh government then announced that IPL matches would not be broadcast in the country.

Current Situation

Although there were recent discussions about lifting the broadcast ban, the deal had already been cancelled by Jiostar.

This means fans in Bangladesh will miss watching one of the world’s biggest cricket leagues this season.
