Bhubaneswar: A modern skywalk will soon be built at a cost of around ₹20 crore. It will have bright lights, easy stairs, and lift facilities. Elderly people, women, and children will be able to cross the road safely. Vehicles will continue moving smoothly underneath.
Traffic between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack often gets stuck for hours, especially between Palasuni and Hanspal. To reduce congestion, a new bridge will be constructed at Palasuni. The existing four-lane road will also be widened to six lanes.
The bridge project is estimated to cost around ₹25 crore. Officials aim to complete it within one and a half years.
Due to increasing accidents between Bhubaneswar and Khordha, five modern skywalks will also be built along this route to improve road safety.
