Bollywood icon Salman Khan has officially announced his next film, Battle of Galwan, a powerful drama based on the 2020 Galwan Valley clash between Indian and Chinese troops.

The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia, best known for Shootout at Lokhandwala, and produced under the banner of Salman Khan Films. Music for the project will be composed by Himesh Reshammiya.

In a 1-minute 22-second motion poster released on Instagram, Salman is seen in a fierce and commanding avatar, sparking excitement among fans. The 59-year-old actor is expected to play the role of Colonel B Santosh Babu—the brave commanding officer of the 16 Bihar Regiment who led his unit during the deadly confrontation in Ladakh’s Galwan Valley.

The clash, which took place on June 15, 2020, marked the most serious military conflict between India and China in over four decades, resulting in the deaths of 20 Indian soldiers. The incident led to a prolonged standoff along the Line of Actual Control and triggered numerous rounds of disengagement talks between the two nations.

Battle of Galwan also stars Harshil Shah, Ankur Bhatia, and Heera Sohall in pivotal roles. While the film’s official release date is yet to be revealed, anticipation is already building around this emotionally charged and nationally significant story.
