Russia Warns U.S. Against Military Involvement in Israel-Iran Conflict

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has issued a strong warning to the United States, saying that any direct military support for Israel could seriously worsen the already tense situation in the Middle East. His comments come as Israel and Iran have been engaged in a fierce exchange of airstrikes for six days.

Speaking to Russia’s Interfax news agency, Ryabkov cautioned Washington against considering such “speculative options,” including military action. He said that U.S. involvement would “radically destabilize” the entire region.

Meanwhile, Sergei Naryshkin, the head of Russia’s foreign intelligence service (SVR), described the current Iran-Israel standoff as critical, highlighting the seriousness of the ongoing conflict.

Reports suggest that former U.S. President Donald Trump and his team are reviewing possible actions, including launching joint strikes with Israel against Iran’s nuclear facilities. On Tuesday, Trump commented on social media about the idea of targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, though he added, “We are not going to take him out (kill!), at least not for now.”

The crisis began last Friday when Israel carried out surprise airstrikes on Iran, targeting nuclear facilities, scientists, and top military officials. Russia has strongly criticized these actions, calling them illegal and unjustified. In response, Iran launched a series of missile and drone attacks on Israeli cities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, who signed a strategic partnership agreement with Iran earlier this year, has called for both sides to stop the attacks and seek a peaceful resolution.
