Russia vs Ukraine War Update:
Russia’s Defence Ministry announced on Sunday that its air defence systems intercepted 120 Ukrainian drones overnight, primarily in areas near the Ukrainian border, with no reported damage.
As the conflict stretches into its fourth year, Ukraine has increasingly turned to drone warfare, targeting sites deep within Russian territory.
According to the Defence Ministry, the majority of the drones were neutralized over border regions: 30 in Bryansk, 29 in Kursk, and 17 in Belgorod. All three regions lie adjacent to Ukraine and have been frequent targets of Ukrainian aerial attacks.
In addition, 18 drones were brought down over the Oryol region, which borders Kursk and has previously seen strikes on oil infrastructure.
Russia’s civil aviation regulator, Rosaviatsiya, confirmed that temporary flight restrictions at airports in St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Moscow, and Nizhny Novgorod—imposed overnight for safety reasons—have now been lifted.
