Sagar Kavach Drill in Ganjam to Boost Coastal Security

Ganjam Police has started a two-day Sagar Kavach exercise along the coast. This is a joint drill to strengthen security and stop possible terrorist entry through sea routes.
Police teams from Aryapalli, Ganjam, Chatrapur, Rambha, and Chamakhandi are taking part along with the Coast Guard.
Security has been tightened across all coastal areas. After the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, where terrorists entered through the sea, special focus is now on strong coastal surveillance.
Police have patrolled around 40 km of coastline, from Prayagi to Haripur, under Aryapalli Marine Police Station.
The drill also includes teams from the Fisheries, Fire Services, Health Department, and Coast Guard.
