Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has presented a budget of ₹3,10,000 crore for the year 2026-27.
Out of this, the government expects to earn ₹2,48,500 crore from taxes, mining royalty, and funds from the Centre.
The remaining money will come from loans.
The government plans to take ₹47,800 crore as new loans this year.

Out of ₹3.10 lakh crore:
Around ₹2.48 lakh crore will come from taxes, mining income and funds from the Central Government.

How Much Debt (Loan) Does Odisha Have?
As per Data Total old debt: ₹1,20,710 crore
After new borrowing, total debt may reach about ₹1.55 lakh crore
Loan burden per person: Around ₹27,625
The government will also:
Pay ₹22,000 crore to repay old loans
Pay ₹8,200 crore as interest
This means a big part of the budget goes to managing loans.

100 Smart Farm Markets (Model Mandi) – ₹100 crore
Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana
Chief Minister Smart City Mission – ₹100 crore
World’s Largest Grain Storage Plan – ₹240 crore
Rare Earth Corridor – ₹10 crore
State Institute for Transformative Initiatives – Odisha (SITI-Odisha)
Connectivity to Unconnected Habitations – ₹1,000 crore
Jagannath Interpretation Centre at Puri
World Tourism Center (WTC) at Puri
State AI Mission – ₹23 crore
Tourism Land Bank Scheme – ₹150 crore
DALKHAI – ₹220 crore
