FM to launch “NITI NCAER States Economic Forum” portal
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will launch the ‘NITI NCAER States Economic Forum’ portal on Tuesday. Developed by NITI Aayog in collaboration with the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), the portal will serve as a central hub for state-level economic and fiscal data spanning the last 30 years (1990-91 to 2022-23).

Key Features of the Portal:

  1. State Reports – Provides summaries of the economic and fiscal landscape of 28 Indian states, covering demographics, economic structure, and financial indicators.

  2. Data Repository – Offers direct access to structured data across five verticals: demography, economic structure, fiscal, health, and education.

  3. State Fiscal and Economic Dashboard – Displays graphical representations of economic trends and provides quick access to raw data and summary tables.

  4. Research & Commentary – Includes expert analysis on state finances, fiscal policy, and economic management.

How the Portal Will Help:

The portal will facilitate data-driven policy decisions, allowing users to analyze historical trends, benchmark state performance, and compare economic data with national figures. It will also act as a research hub, providing analytical tools for in-depth studies.
By consolidating sectoral data in one place, the platform aims to support policymakers, researchers, and analysts in fostering informed discussions on state-level economic development.
