NEET UG 2025 Result Declared: Mahesh Kumar Tops, Over 12 Lakh Qualify for Counselling

New Delhi, June 14: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the results of the NEET UG 2025 examination, one of India’s most competitive medical entrance tests. Conducted on May 4, 2025, the exam saw participation from over 22 lakh students, of which approximately 12.36 lakh candidates have qualified for medical and dental undergraduate seats across the country.

This year’s All India Rank (AIR) 1 was bagged by Mahesh Kumar, a student from Rajasthan, who scored a near-perfect 99.99995 percentile, securing his place as the national topper. The highest-ranking female candidate is Avika Aggarwal from Delhi, who earned AIR 5 with an impressive 99.99968 percentile. Their achievements have become a source of inspiration for aspirants across the country.

The examination, which serves as the gateway to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and veterinary courses in India, was held in offline mode in over 500 cities across the country and several international centres. The exam saw a record-breaking 22.09 lakh students appearing, highlighting the increasing interest in medical careers.

This year, the OBC category witnessed the highest number of successful candidates, with around 5.64 lakh qualifiers. In total, candidates from all categories combined brought the number of successful aspirants to over 12.36 lakh, reflecting a success rate of approximately 56%.

Candidates can now check their results and download their scorecards from the official website — neet.nta.nic.in — by entering their application number, date of birth, and security pin. The scorecard includes subject-wise marks, total marks, percentiles, and All India Rank (AIR).

Students qualifying NEET UG 2025 will now compete for over 1 lakh MBBS and BDS seats across various government and private medical colleges in India. They will also be eligible for courses in AYUSH, veterinary sciences, and other related fields.

Education experts have appreciated the NTA for conducting the examination smoothly despite the logistical challenges posed by the vast scale. The results were released earlier than expected, allowing students and institutions to begin the counselling and admission process promptly.
