israel- iran War
Israel’s Defence Minister, Israel Katz, has issued a stark warning to Iran’s top authority, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, after recent missile strikes aimed at Israeli towns and cities.
In a statement, Katz accused Khamenei of endangering ordinary Iranians by provoking further conflict. “The Iranian dictator is holding his own citizens hostage,” he said. “If the missiles keep coming, the residents of Tehran will bear a heavy price.”
Katz’s message was blunt: “If Khamenei continues to fire missiles at Israel’s civilian areas, Tehran will burn.” His comments highlight growing tensions between the two long‑time rivals, each blaming the other for escalating violence in the region.
Israel and Iran have clashed indirectly for years, often through proxy forces and airstrikes in Syria. However, the latest exchange of missile fire has drawn them closer to a direct confrontation. Israeli officials claim Iran’s Revolutionary Guard supplied the weapons used in the recent attacks.
Iran has not yet responded to Katz’s statement, but its leaders often say their missile programme is defensive. Still, the defence minister’s warning signals that Israel is prepared to hit back hard if Iranian attacks continue.
For civilians on both sides, the rhetoric brings fresh worries of a wider conflict. Katz’s words, delivered in stark, simple terms, underline how quickly the situation could spiral if diplomacy fails and missiles keep flying.
