Indian Army Responds Strongly vs Pakistan cease fire
For the fourth day in a row, the Pakistan Army fired without provocation along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army said on Monday.
“During the night of April 27-28, 2025, Pakistan Army posts opened small arms fire across the LoC in areas near Kupwara and Poonch districts. Indian soldiers responded quickly and effectively,” a defence spokesperson said.
This marks the fourth straight ceasefire violation by Pakistan. On the night of April 25-26, Pakistani posts across the LoC also fired small arms without reason. Indian troops fired back appropriately.
So far, no casualties have been reported.
Earlier, on April 24, the Pakistan Army had also opened small arms fire at multiple spots along the LoC, and the Indian Army responded strongly.
Tensions have been rising between India and Pakistan after the brutal killing of 26 civilians — including 25 tourists and one local resident — by Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists on April 22 in the Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam.
The massacre has caused outrage across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, reacting for the first time, promised that the terrorists and those supporting them would be hunted down wherever they hide.
In a high-level security meeting held in Srinagar on Sunday, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha met Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi. The Lt Governor ordered the Army to use all necessary force to punish those behind the Pahalgam attack.
Meanwhile, security forces are also sending a strong message by demolishing properties linked to terrorists, their helpers, and supporters.
On Friday, two houses belonging to terrorists Adil Hussain Thokar and Asif Sheikh were demolished in Tral and Bijbehara. Both were connected to the LeT group responsible for the Pahalgam massacre.
