Rahul Gandhi Sets 3 Conditions to End Parliament Deadlock

New Delhi(24/7): Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi has reportedly laid down three key conditions for the Opposition to resume normal proceedings in Parliament amid the ongoing political deadlock over the alleged assault on students during a recent protest.

According to the Opposition's demands:

1. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan should resign, with the Opposition holding him politically accountable for the developments.

2. Strict action should be taken against those accused of attacking protesting students, along with a fair and transparent investigation into the incident.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should issue a public apology over the handling of the matter.

The Opposition has maintained that unless these demands are addressed, it will not participate in discussions in Parliament, signalling that the impasse is likely to continue.

The government, however, has maintained that Parliament should function normally and has appealed to the Opposition to allow legislative business to proceed while discussions on the issue can take place through established parliamentary procedures.

The standoff has led to repeated disruptions in both Houses, affecting the passage of important legislative business and debates. Political observers believe that any breakthrough will depend on negotiations between the government and Opposition leaders in the coming days.
