India celebrated another exciting day of ‘Fit India Sundays on Cycle’, with more than 300 cycling events held at the same time across the country. In Delhi, the event was launched at New Moti Bagh by Sujata Chaturvedi, Secretary of Sports. Her presence energized the crowd and showed the country’s strong push towards fitness.

People from all walks of life—including athletes, police teams, local communities, and families—took part in the event, promoting fitness, fun, and care for the environment. The campaign is led by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.

At New Moti Bagh Club, around 350 residents from various local Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) joined the ride. The event was aimed at fighting obesity and encouraging healthier lifestyles in cities.

Sujata Chaturvedi praised the growing success of the Fit India Movement. She said, “Fit India has become very popular. It includes many activities and is reaching people all over the country. Today, more than 300 cycling events are happening. We also had the Fit India carnival at JLN Stadium, which was mentioned by the Prime Minister in Mann ki Baat. These efforts are helping create a strong fitness culture in India.”

The event in Delhi had some special guests too. Nitesh Siwach, a Greco-Roman wrestler who recently won a bronze medal at the 2025 Asian Wrestling Championships, joined the crowd. He appreciated how more people are now focusing on health and fitness.

“Fitness is very important for both the body and mind. I’m happy to see so many people cycling together and being more health-conscious. I hope Fit India continues to grow,” he said.

Another guest was Rohtash Choudhary, known as the ‘Push-Up Man of India’. He holds multiple Guinness World Records, including doing 645 push-ups in one hour with a 60-pound weight and one leg raised.

In other parts of the country, more inspiring figures joined the events. At SAI RC Imphal, famous weightlifter and Padma Shri awardee Kunjarani Devi started the cycling rally, motivating many to pledge for better health and cleaner cities.

In Tamil Nadu, at the SAI Training Centre in Salem, Suresh Kumar S.—a track and field athlete and a medal winner at the World Police Athletic Championships—opened the event. A large number of people came out to cycle, showing the growing love for fitness and community activities in the region.
