Riyadh: Al Nassr continued their strong run in the Saudi Pro League 2025–26 season with a comfortable 2–0 victory over Al Akhdoud at the Al Awwal Park on Saturday, led by a brilliant brace from Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Portuguese superstar opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, finishing calmly after Al Nassr’s sustained pressure in the final third. Just before the halftime whistle, Ronaldo struck again in stoppage time (45+3’) to double the hosts’ advantage and put them firmly in control of the contest.
Ronaldo appeared to have completed his hat-trick early in the second half, but celebrations were cut short as VAR ruled the goal out for offside, sparking debate among fans inside the stadium.
Al Nassr dominated possession and created multiple chances, while Al Akhdoud struggled to break through a well-organised defence. Despite a few counter-attacks, the visitors failed to seriously test the Al Nassr goalkeeper.
With this win, Al Nassr strengthened their position in the league standings and kept up the pressure in the title race. Ronaldo’s performance once again underlined his importance to the Riyadh club as he continues to lead their attack this season.
Al Akhdoud, meanwhile, will look to bounce back in their next fixture after another tough outing against one of the league’s top sides.
