US President Donald Trump took a jab at countries affected by his tariff policies, claiming they are desperate to strike deals with the United States. Speaking at the National Republican Congressional Committee event on Tuesday, Trump also criticized Congress’s role in trade negotiations, insisting he’s a far better dealmaker.

“These countries are calling up, kissing my a**. They’re begging—’Please sir, make a deal. I’ll do anything,'” Trump said, drawing laughter from the crowd.
He slammed Republicans who believe Congress should handle tariff negotiations, saying that approach would weaken America’s position. “You don’t negotiate like I negotiate,” Trump said, defending his aggressive stance against nations like China, which is currently facing a 104% tariff.
According to Trump, if Congress had its way, China would be off the hook. “They’d be paying nothing, and we’d be paying them 104%,” he quipped, adding that letting Congress lead would “sell America fast.”

Trump also hinted at upcoming tariffs targeting the pharmaceutical industry. He pointed out that many medicines are produced overseas but sold at much higher prices in the US. “We’re going to tariff pharma in a way that companies will come running back here. When they hear what’s coming, they’ll leave China and open plants in the US,” he said.
Trump wrapped up his speech by emphasizing the power of the American market and warning that more tariff announcements are coming soon.
