Additionally, people without cash in hand found it difficult to complete their purchases, highlighting the dependency on digital payments in India’s economy.
Authorities have yet to provide an official statement on the cause of the issue. However, based on previous outages, technical glitches at major banks could be a contributing factor. Users are advised to stay updated through official banking channels and consider alternative payment methods until the issue is resolved. Earlier this month, SBI also faced UPI disruptions nationwide, which it later resolved.
