Pakistan Admits Funding Terror Groups, India Responds to Pahalgam Attack

Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khwaja Asif, admitted in a viral video interview with Sky News that Pakistan has been funding and supporting terrorist groups for decades. He said this was done for the U.S. and Western countries, starting with the war against the Soviet Union and continuing after 9/11. Asif called it a mistake that caused suffering for Pakistan. He also warned of a possible “all-out war” with India.

This admission comes after a deadly terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India, which killed 26 people. India’s Foreign Secretary, Vikram Misri, said the attack was linked to cross-border terrorism and happened as the region was making progress after successful elections.

In response, India took strong actions: it closed a border checkpoint at Attari, stopped a visa program for Pakistani citizens, gave them 40 hours to leave India, and reduced the number of diplomats in both countries’ embassies. India also paused the Indus Waters Treaty, a water-sharing agreement with Pakistan from 1960.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised that the terrorists and their supporters would face severe punishment. He said India’s 1.4 billion people are determined to destroy terrorism and its remaining networks. (with Inputs from ANI)
