Iran-Israel War

In a dramatic escalation of hostilities, Israel launched a major aerial assault on Tehran, striking over 60 strategic targets as part of Operation Rising Lion. The Israeli military confirmed that more than 60 fighter jets conducted coordinated airstrikes, deploying approximately 120 munitions across the Iranian capital.

Among the primary targets was a key facility believed to be at the heart of Iran’s nuclear weapons research efforts. The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the operation struck “dozens of military targets, including missile production sites and the SPND headquarters – the Organisation of Defensive Innovation and Research – responsible for the development of nuclear weaponry.”

A military spokesperson emphasized that the strikes aimed to significantly degrade Iran’s ability to pursue nuclear capabilities and carry out long-range missile attacks.

In retaliation, Iran launched a barrage of missiles targeting northern Israel. The port city of Haifa bore the brunt of the counterattack, with at least 19 people reportedly injured. Local hospitals confirmed the casualties, stating that some injuries were due to shrapnel and structural damage.

One of the Iranian projectiles is believed to have breached Israel’s advanced air defense systems, striking a dockside area in Haifa. The blast caused significant damage to nearby buildings, shattered windows, and left debris scattered across the streets, according to AFP visuals from the scene.

The situation remains highly volatile, with both nations trading threats and intensifying their military actions, sparking concerns of a broader regional conflict.
