The Indian Premier League is set to start on 22 March 2025. Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore will face off at Eden Gardens, KKR’s home ground, at 7:30 PM IST. Coach Gautam Gambhir have left the team. Kolkata Knight Riders, led by Shreyas Iyer, had defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets in the final of IPL 2024 to clinch their third title. Shreyas Iyer, however, was released by the franchise before eventually joining Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the new season. New captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead the KKR team this year. Similarly, Rajat Patidar will be the leader of RCB. It will be interesting to see whether KKR will be able to retain the title once again or some other team will become the new winner. Ten teams will be participating in the tournament. Some records will break, and some new will be set.
