The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has released the annual player contracts for the men’s team for the 2024–25 season, starting October 1, 2024, and ending September 30, 2025. Key players Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, who retired from T20 Internationals (T20Is), along with Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who also retired from T20Is, have kept their top-tier A+ contracts. These contracts come with a yearly payment of Rs 7 crore, plus match fees and bonuses.
Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan are back on the contract list after being left out last year for not playing domestic cricket. Iyer is in the B category, while Kishan is in the C category. Ravichandran Ashwin, who retired from international cricket, has been replaced in the A category by Rishabh Pant, who moved up from the B category. The other A category players—Mohammed Siraj, KL Rahul, Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, and Mohammed Shami—stay the same.
New players Nitish Kumar Reddy, Dhruv Jurel, Abhishek Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Akash Deep, Varun Chakravarthy, and Harshit Rana have joined the contract list, all in the C category. However, Shivam Dube, Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharat, and Avesh Khan, who were in the C category last year, are no longer on the list.
A total of 34 players have received contracts for the 2024–25 season.
