Nokia and Airtel Expand Partnership for Better 5G and 4G Network Performance

Airtel is strengthening its 5G and 4G networks by expanding its partnership with Nokia. Using Nokia’s Packet Core solution, Airtel aims to improve network efficiency, reduce operational costs, and enhance data handling capacity while preparing for 5G Standalone (SA).

This multi-year deal covers most of Airtel’s service regions in India and focuses on network automation using AI for service management. By integrating Nokia’s cloud-native and appliance-based Packet Core, Airtel will be able to optimize its hardware footprint and lower costs while delivering higher network reliability and faster speeds.

what are the Benefits of this Partnership:

  1. Enhanced customer experience with improved network quality.

  2. Cost efficiency by reducing hardware needs.

  3. Stronger 5G readiness with a more flexible and scalable network.

  4. Expanded broadband capacity for homes and businesses.

Airtel CTO Randeep Sekhon highlighted how Nokia’s solution will support the growing demand for data, while Nokia’s Cloud and Network Services President, Raghav Sahgal, emphasized their role in advancing Airtel’s 5G evolution.

Nokia’s technology is already a key part of Airtel’s infrastructure, supporting services like VoLTE, VoNR, and Unified Data Management (UDM). This expansion will further strengthen their collaboration and help Airtel deliver high-speed, high-capacity connectivity across India.
